Body jewelry: Nose piercing & Types of Nose Jewelry

The nose is another part of the body that is often decorated with jewelry and the reason for this boils down to the fact that it makes a lady's outlook to be more attractive [and distinctive] provided it is strategically and/or fashionably positioned. Besides, the adornment of the nose appears to get some special considerations as jewelry manufacturers fabricate specific jewelry for the nose. These jewelry pieces are usually finished to great style and design. It is important to know the type of jewelry you desire to fix before getting your nose pierced.

Types of Nose Jewelry

Basically, there are five (5) types of nose jewelry; they are:

  • Nose screws: This set of jewelry has its tip decorated with jewel or bead. The orientation of nose screws vary; they could be positioned either to the left- or to the right- side of the nostril.
  • L-Bars: As the name implies, L-Bars take the shape of letter 'L' and they usually have curved shaft, and are decorated with jewel or beads at the top.
  • Nose Hoops: These are commonly ring shaped. They can be fashioned as seamless rings, captive bead rings or segment rings.
  • NoseBone: This type is straight in orientation, and it does have a ball [attached to its bottom end] which helps to keep it in position.
  • Fishtails: Fishtails are relatively long and straight, and their shaft can be bend to suit your specification. The tip of a fishtail has a decorative finishing.
